To connect Blu-ray Player with HD TV and Home Theatre, you need HDMI for help. There are two ways to connect them. The first one is to connect your Blu-ray Player to Home Theatre with one HDMI cable first and then use a second cable from the Home Theatre to the HDTV. The second way is to use HDMI output from Blu-ray player to TV for video and optical digital cable output from Blu-ray player to Home Theater input for surround sound.
Here the first way is highly recommended. Because if you have more than one video source (e.g. Blu-ray and HD cable or satellite), you have to select video source at the TV and audio at the Home Theatre.

Frequently Asked Questions...
Can anyone tell the difference between blu ray and a dvd when played through a playstation 3?
Can anyone actually tell the difference in picture quality between a blu ray and dvd when played through a ps3? Yes, my tv's are 1080p. Are blu rays just a waste of money? From what I understand the ps3 upconverts regular dvd's. Thanks
Answer:
There is a huge difference between blu-ray and dvd when played on a 1080P TV. Blu-ray has 6 times the resolution of DVD, meaning DVD has to be blown up 6 times to fill the same 1080P screen. That results in an image with noticeable pixelization and blurriness, especially compared to blu-ray. All upconverting does is resize the DVD image to fit a 1080P screen, it doesn't add any detail or increase the resolution of the image at all.
