How to Recharge Cordless Phone Batteries
Allow the phone to charge until the battery is fully charged. Depending on the brand and model you own, there may be a charging indicator light that indicates when the phone is charging and when charging is complete. If your phone does not have this function or you are unsure how it works, you can check the battery status by turning on the phone. Locate the battery icon. The battery will contain bars that indicate how full, or how charged, the battery is. A battery that is completely shaded in is completely charged; an icon that is not completely shaded is not fully charged.
Plug your cordless phone's dock into a wall outlet. Find a wall outlet that is convenient for the use of the phone and that isn't near water or other liquids, as these can cause dangerous electrical discharges.
Charge your cordless phone using the wall charger frequently. Do not wait until you run out of power on the phone to charge, as this can damage the battery.
Store your phone in as cool and dry a place as possible to maintain battery life. You may keep it near the phone charger, but avoid placing it on the charger, as this uses up more battery power.
Charging cordless Phone Battery as needed. Some people choose to charge cell phone batteries every night, while others charge as needed. After conditioning, charging needs will depend upon use. Phones used strictly for voice calls and text messages tend to have a longer battery life than phones that connect to the Internet.
Clean battery connections with alcohol. Once a month, connections between the cell phone and cell phone battery should be cleaned with alcohol. This removes dirt and debris from connections, allowing the cell phone battery to charge more efficiently.
Attach the red wire to the positive (+) end of the cell phone battery and the black wire to the negative (-) end of the cell phone battery using electrical tape to attach the wires. Do not touch the black wire to the positive (+) end or the red wire to the negative (-) end, as this will cause damage to the battery and even to you.
Determine whether you have an automatic charger, which would set the charge rate once the charger and battery are connected. If it's not automatic, use the settings functions on the charger to set the correct rate of charge. The charge rate should equal the voltage of the six cells, which is 21.6 volts. Don't exceed this figure, as the battery will get too hot and could catch fire.
